Cumin seeds are from the Cuminum Cyminum plant, native to the Middle East and India. Cumin seeds can be used whole, or freshly ground for their distinctive nutty, peppery flavour, that is well suited to spice mixes, savoury dishes, preserves and baked goods. 

Whole cumin seeds are great to add flavour to homemade bread, cheeses, and preserves. To bring out extra flavour. cumin seeds can be gently roasted in a dry pan, over low heat. Cumin is delicious in soups, chilli, dahl, and casseroles.
